Details make the difference! - Living Room Cabinets Design Tips

The tips of designing living room storage units could considered systematically:

[Storage Items-Oriented]
- Leave ventilation holes or drainage space for items that are damp (umbrella) or require ventilation (shoes).
- For large items (suitcases, equipment), you may apply adjustable shelves. And/ or get rid of the bottom panel of the cabinet.
- To store valuables, lock or electronic lock are required.
- The middle level open space can be used to place commonly used items.
- Sockets can be installed in the cabinet to provide a convenient charging location such as storing vacuum cleaners and sweeping robot.
- Plan the placement of electrical appliances before making the cabinet, could better hide the wires.

[Ergonomics To Apply]

- If the installation area is next to a walkway, a walkway width of 80cm-120cm must be reserved.
- Avoid cabinets that are too deep or too high to create a sense of oppression. The depth of some parts can be designed to be different.
- Outward opening door: space for the door to open must be reserved. Sliding doors are suitable for narrow spaces, but the tracks need to be cleaned regularly to avoid jamming.
- The most convenient space height for taking items in the cabinet is within 15 degrees up or down when the arm is in the horizontal position.
- The height of the top storage compartment should be within the reach of an adult, about 190cm.
- For shelf boards with a span exceeding 80cm, consider using thicker shelf boards or installing vertical boards/columns/metal strips at the bottom to prevent bending and deformation.

[Diverse Elements Make Good]

- If adding a glass door, consider using semi-transparent grey glass or reeded glass, which can provide both privacy and transparency when storing items.
- Mix and match appropriate materials such as wood grain, metal and glass to enrich the sense of layering. Metal shelves generally have better load-bearing capacity than wooden shelves, and can be made into shelves with larger spans and thinner thicknesses, making the style more concise.
- Using more curvy edges can reduce the visual volume, avoid a stiff feeling, and prevent injuries from collisions.
- Warm LED light strips are embedded in the shelves to create warm atmosphere for the displayed items. The light can be dimmed through the APP.
- Light colors can magnify the sense of space, and a combination of 2 to 3 colors can make the appearance more eye-catching.

[Featured Functional Designs]

- Double-layer drawer design: shallow on top and deep at the bottom, better for organizing and classifying items.
- Modular design: The cabinet can be split into 3-4 independent units and freely combined to suit different apartment types.
- Extendable storage modules: such as a movable cabinet or a retractable table top that can be pulled out to serve as a makeshift coffee table.
- Uniquely styled storage racks can be used to display collectibles.
- You can achieve a wall storage system by integrating the living room storage cabinet and TV cabinet into a coherent style.
- The large storage cabinets are equipped with a suspended design to create a sense of lightness.
